Jack and Paige are two British tourists traveling around the world. They are currently exploring the Southeast United States and stopped to visit my city, Macon, Georgia.
They explore St Joseph Catholic Church, enjoy lunch at H&H Soul Food, sample craft beer at Fall Line Brewing, and finish the day at The Rookery. I was happy to see everyone greeting them warmly. I love living here and often visit many of the downtown locations featured in this video.
We spent the day wandering through downtown, admiring the mix of architecture and chatting with friendly locals... Macon feels like one of those places that flies under the radar. Great food, great bars, deep musical roots and a slower pace than places like Nashville or New Orleans... Downtown felt welcoming, lively and full of character. If you're looking for a Southern city break without the crowds, Macon is well worth a visit.
