Testing Different Art Supplies in My Bristol Board Sketchbook

Uploaded image

Experimenting with a Bristol board sketchbook I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I outlined the basic shapes of this wasp with Micron pens, then added color with water-based markers, shadows with a graphite pencil, and highlights using a white Gelly Roll pen.

I’m trying different supplies and seeing how they work together. The smooth Bristol surface feels different from my usual sketchbook, especially when adding fine details and layers of color.

Here are a couple more drawings I made testing different markers.
